Sorrento City GuidebookAn Independent City Guide Map

About Sorrento City Guidebook

Sorrento City Guidebook is an independent guide to Sorrento and the day-trip machine around it: Capri, Pompeii, Vesuvius and the Amalfi Coast. It is not a tour operator, a ticket seller, or the official website of any museum, port or town.

What this site is

A comparison layer. Sorrento's visitor economy runs on decisions: which ferry, which ticket, which morning, which table. Every page on this site takes one of those decisions, gathers the official figures and the real operator listings, and states what we would pick and why.

The town itself is mostly free; the money decisions are on the water and at the gates, so those pages carry the deepest comparisons.

Where the figures come from

Hours, prices and rules are read from official pages: museocorreale.okticket.it and museocorreale.it for the museum, nlg.it for the ferries, pompeiisites.org for the Pompeii gates, parconazionaledelvesuvio.it for Vesuvius, comune.sorrento.na.it for the tourist tax, eavbus.it and unicocampania.it for the trains. Where an official page prints nothing, the page here says so: a figure nobody publishes is printed as not stated, never guessed. Platform prices on tour cards are the figures the platforms listed on the date shown beside them.

Money

Prices appear dollar-first with the euro figure in brackets, at the European Central Bank reference rate stored on the day of the build; the costs page carries the live panel. The euro is the currency you actually hand over, and it is always the official figure.

How it earns

The site carries affiliate links: GetYourGuide tour and ticket cards (partner links carrying cmp=sorrentocityguidebook), Stay22 hotel search links on the where-to-stay pages, and Tiqets via Travelpayouts where museum tickets appear. If you book through one of them we earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Official ticket-office links are never affiliate links, and the first row of every ticket table is always the official option, untracked.

The full statement is on the affiliate disclosure. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours; the operators sell them on their own sites, and the first row of every comparison is the official option.

How often things are re-checked

Every page carries a checked date in its freshness box: the day that page's figures were last read. The cadence is quarterly, sooner when an operator announces a change. Between checks, operators can and do change schedules, prices and closures; the dated figures on this site are a snapshot, not a live feed, and the official page linked on each page is always the last word.

Who writes it

A small editorial team that builds travel guides for a living, working from official sources and the operators' own listings. We do not accept free tours, press trips or payment for coverage; pages recommend what the arithmetic recommends, and say so in one sentence at the point of decision. The Sorrento city guide front page is the place to start.
